Staff Post: Books + Music
If there’s one thing you can count on, it’s that the staff here at Book+Main are passionate about books. We don’t just say we love romance, we genuinely love romance. (That’s how Book+Main Bites came into being, actually. You can read CEO Tracey’s post about it here.)
But it’s not just romance we love. We also love music . . . especially when it’s paired with romance. Want to know more? Read on!
At first glance, it might seem like books and music don’t go together. But that’s far from the truth in Romancelandia. Not only do some authors require music to help them write pivotal scenes, but readers also clamor to get their hands on their favorite author’s playlists.
“There’s nothing better than listening to a song that an author has said inspired one of my favorite scenes from a book. It helps me to see it play out in my head—like a movie. It gives me all the feels and will oftentimes lead to multiple rereads of the same part of that book.”
— Melissa Saneholtz, Book+Main CMO
Our entire team at Book+Main agrees that music + books = a winning combo! So much so, that we’ve teamed up with over a dozen authors to highlight their writing playlists. It’s a feature in our bi-monthly newsletter and, to celebrate our love of all things books and music, we wanted to share some of them with you!
We hope you found some songs to groove to while you’re reading, or maybe some inspiration for imagining how a scene plays out! If you’d like to see more awesome author playlists, we have them all over on our Spotify. Be sure to follow us there!
Ever wondered what inspires a Duke to fall in love? Wonder no more, because we have the answer right here on this blog. Check out our Guest Post from Anthony, Lord Colton, who shared the soundtrack to his own romance!
